Sumabay pa yung langit (ulan) at lupa (lindol).

Lakay is back!

14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal in 29 minutes of play. That is how Danny Ildefonso, a former player of San Miguel Beermen and the Petron Blaze boosters franchise for 15 years, made his comeback after being an unrestricted free agent for two months.

As a Lakay fan, I'm really happy to see him play and prove that he has still some balls left in his tank. With his leadership on and off the court, Lakay will contribute heavily to the Meralco Bolts especially the team is in injury bug right now. (Mike Cortez will sit out for the rest of the conference due to knee injury, torn meniscus) I'm hoping that Meralco will extend Ildefonso's contract para everybody happy :)

Iso-Joe's buzzer beater shot at OKC!

Kung New Year's Resolution ng Brooklyn Nets ay ang manalo, they are doing it the right way. Beating a top contender and a buzzer beater by Joe Johnson. Watch the video for those who didn't catch the game this morning :)

Manila Clasico Year 2014

Happy New Year everyone!!! And what a good way to start the year to see the the anticipated (Basta pag Ginebra and San Mig, anticipated talaga lol ) Manila Clasico this coming Sunday, January 5.

(c) EJ GRFX

Ginebra is up against a team who's experiencing a four-game losing skid (current record: 3-7) and San Mig Super Coffee's (I just feel that the "Super" thing to their team's name is a bit off, I don't know hahaha) last lost to Rain Or Shine Elastopainters was that bad, Coach Tim Cone decided not to talk for the whole 2nd half. Imagine the terror that the players felt at that game. While the Barangay is enjoying a six game winning streak (current record: 9-1), and their last game was a pretty historic game, escaping their first round tormentors Meralco Bolts via Japeth Aguilar's buzzer beater three-pointer.

What to expect:

For San Mig Coffee: SMC wants to win this game and their next two games in order for them not to be in the bottom of the cellar. They want to bounce back to their horrific loss. The Coffee Mixers will rely to their veterans especially to James Yap and PJ Simon to provide the team's offense, Mark Barroca to set the team up and Joe De Vance and Marc Pingris to bring hustle to their squad. This is also a game for Ian Sangalang, to prove that he can set aside his desire to be a Ginebra player and to contribute to the team that he's in now. (Issue maker lang ako hahahahahaha but he's doing well in SMC and he's adapting to the triangle with ease)

For Barangay Ginebra San Miguel: With their record as good looking as Greg Slaughter, the Kings have the tendency to lax and to under-perform but Aguilar reassured the fans that their focus is the Championship and they'll do their best to win any ball game, at all cost.

A team who's fighting to survive and a team who's competing for supremacy. Who will win this Manila Clasico 2014? Let's just see. ;)

Who do you think will take the W? Let me know! :)

Clutch. Confidence. Composure. Japeth

(c) Spin.ph

He did it once with Talk 'N Text, he did it again with Meralco.

It was exactly one minute when Ginebra is down by 5 or 6 (lol forgive my retention problems), Coach Ato drew a play for big man Jr Reyes, a quick corner three, made it. Mark Caguioa fouled John Wilson, splits from the line. A missed three pointer by Aguilar. Meralco ball with around 30 seconds left on the game clock. It was a total chaos for us fans. We don't want to see Meralco tearing up our team once again but I was on the edge of giving this game up to the Bolts. But our team, Ginebra, did not want to experience that loss to the same team AGAIN.

Back to the ball game, I honestly don't know who took the last shot for Meralco but it was a good look from the basket, it could have gone it but thank goodness it didn't. Scramble for the loose ball. Ginebra ball! According to the referees, Jared Dillinger touched it last. No timeouts left for Ginebra. Kumbaga kung ano yung na-set na play ni Coach Ato nung last timeout, they can stick to that or come what may na play na lang.

11 seconds. 11 seconds to come up with a shot that could tie the ballgame up and send this to overtime o possibly win the game with a three-pointer. At the backcourt he was with Japeth Aguilar, a very familiar scene to us. Anjo Caram's defense to LA was that sticky, very sticky. Inaasawa si Gineral. 4 seconds left, still the ball was with LA. He has to come up with a shot or to feed another teammate and then he saw Japeth, who's patiently waiting for that pass. He sent that ball to Japeth who's hounded by the physical defense of Reynel Hugnatan. A couple of pushes from Reynel, a couple of dribbles from Aguilar, a step back, and a three. Tapos nagwala na ako.

Words can't simply explain my feelings that time. It was nostalgic, magical, juice ko lahat na. That clutch, confidence and composure that Japeth had to make that shot was spot on. Thank you Japeth, LA, Jr and the rest of the Barangay for ending this year so gooooooooood. Labyu!

To Barangay Ginebra San Miguel:

Hi Ginebra! Andito na naman tayoo, medyo do or die game tayo bukas. Hehe.

Kaya yan at kakayanin 'to mga sir! Tiwala at kapit lang! Darating din ang Good News!

Love lots,
KC;)

FEU VS. DLSU Battle for 2nd Place (Post game reaction)

Let me clear this: I am fan of FEU so expect me to be bias here. :)))))))
(c) ph.yahoo.com
What went wrong?

We all know that the FEU is number one in terms of 3 point percentage (which is around 28%) and in this ballgame, they only made 5 out of 34 shots. It was like the ring did not like the 3 points of FEU or something.

I think the 2-3 zone defense really worked at the paint for us but the downside of having a 2-3 zone defense is, it will be harder for the guards to contest more outside shots from the opposing team and that's what happen. DLSU will always locate for their open shooter especially LA "Threevilla", he just made 6 out of his 11 three point attempts. (His' beyond the arc conversions are bigger than to FEU team as a whole)

For me, playing against La Salle is more difficult on our part because we don't have the strongest of the centers in the UAAP, yes we got 2 imports, Hargrove and Sentchu but Hargrove is more of a PG or SG (according to him, because in the States, his natural position is 1 or 2) and Sentchu really needs to train more to somehow match the other import-centers in the UAAP. Also, we are a guard oriented team, we don't rely much on our centers. Unfortunately, Coach Juno pulled his Twin Towers when FEU was trying to make a run at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Well, FEU still has another game to try to win against DLSU because there is no other game to win but that ballgame obviously. We are on the twice to win disadvantage and the FEU team must find solutions to their poor scoring especially in the Caidic country.
